“I’m going crazy…I can’t handle this.  Oh my god!  They just won’t stop!” Gabby looked at the comm panel in front of her and let out an exasperated sigh, leaning back in her chair to run her hands through her blond hair, and very nearly tossed her headset on the floor.  No matter what she did, the calls simply wouldn’t stop.  There were two dozen in queue, at least half a dozen still on hold, and she hadn’t heard a thing from her boss since she’d suddenly ran off to the Demon Sector with her personal assistant.  “Why am I even still here?  I could just leave, that’d be the sane thing to do…” she muttered, snatching her comm and turning the screen on, hoping in vain for some kind of response from Soletta to the messages she’d sent through the special communications relays on Perihelion and Aphelion Stations, but nothing from Soletta, just a lot of angry texts and voicemails from other executives wanting to know where she was.

How was she supposed to know where her boss was?  Things around the company had been nuts since the whole DSM buyout thing had come up a few months ago, and had only escalated since, especially with the pressure DSM was putting on Soletta to sell her majority control of the company.  Worse, in the last few weeks, several of Soletta’s supporters had had accidents, some had even wound up in the hospital, a couple with serious injuries.  The pressure was mounting for her to sell the company on all sides, and then she’d just up and vanished into the Demon Sector.

“And left me to answer the damn phones.  Why couldn’t she have at least left me with something to tell these people?!  Argh!” Gabby cried out in frustration, slammed her fists onto the desktop and glared at the screen.  Five more calls in the queue.  How come the technical problems with the comm system would never happen at times like this?  A system crash would be the answer to her prayers. She glanced at the on screen clock and sighed.  It was barely after 9AM local time; she still had her whole day ahead of her.

Before she could take another call and put it on hold, the gate intercom buzzed.  “Not again…” she muttered, tapping the camera display to change the view.  There had been no shortage of reporters trying to get onto the property, and some shadier sorts that she’d had to call the police on twice, no, three times now.  Why had Soletta insisted on moving her office to her home in the first place?  The main headquarters in the city was so much more secure!

The camera revealed a nondescript black van sitting at the gates.  Shifting the camera to the one on the intercom panel, she saw an orcish man wearing a security uniform, another burly looking human fellow in the passenger seat.

“Um, hello?” Gabby said as she pressed the intercom button.

“Yes, MIss Garvin?  We’re the security detail you requested.  Approval finally came in this morning,” said the orc.

“Oh, thank the gods!  About time!  Please, come on up, I’ll have the front doors unlocked for you!” Gabby said excitedly, tapping the screen to unlock the gate, then another panel on her desk to unlock the front doors.  Finally, some good news!  “Just do whatever you have to do, I’ll be on the phone when you get here.”

“Yes, ma’am,” said the orc, tipping his hat.

Gabby went back to answering the phones, noting that one of the ones on hold had dropped.  Hey, that was some improvement, at least!  She was another half dozen calls through the endless queue when she saw the orc come through into the area Soletta had designated for the office.  She waved to him as she tried to explain to one of the other executives that she still hadn’t heard anything from her boss, and that it wasn’t her responsibility to keep track of her.  She didn’t get paid nearly enough for that.

The orc shook his head and gave her a sympathetic grin, then did a circular motion with his finger before he stepped out.  She saw three more men come in behind him, the human she’d saw before, another orc, and a massive equinarian, who had several equipment cases held in his arms, which he sat gingerly on the floor, one of them easily seven feet long and four feet deep, and about three feet wide.

Wow, they really are super strong!  That one case alone could fit two people in!” Gabby thought.  She’d met a few equinarians, sure, but she’d never really seen them hauling anything.  She missed what the executive on the other end of the line said, but it probably didn’t matter.  She’d been through the same spiel the last few days so many times, she barely had to think about it.

She saw the security guys taking up some gear out of one of the cases, then fanning out, probably going to sweep the place for bugs and stuff.  Good, at least the company was finally taking her safety seriously!  “I should get Secretary of the Year for dealing with all this crap, no question!

A Couple Hours Later…

The orc came into the office again, standing silently with his hands clasped in front of him.  Gabby could see the rest of the team outside the office, clustered around the big case, chatting quietly amongst themselves.  She held up her finger, rolling her eyes as she explained for the…she’d lost count of how many times that day, exactly, why her boss wasn’t able to take a call.  She’d considered getting inventive with the stories after the first hour, but that would just cause more trouble down the line when someone spoke to someone else and their stories didn’t match.

Why didn’t I go to school for something more exciting than secretarial work?  I mean, there has got to be something better than this out there, right?  Pay is good…but is it really that great?  I could do better…”  She sighed.  “I’m sorry, sir, and apologize for the inconvenience, but Mrs. Valkyr is unavailable at this time.  I have explained this three times.  I’m afraid this call has become unproductive and I’m forced to terminate it.  Thank you for calling, have a great day!”

Gabby blew out her breath and rubbed her eyes.

“You really sound sincere when you say that,” said the orc with a chuckle.  “They teach you that in secretary school or something?”

“I guess so,” she replied tiredly.  “You just sort of learn it over time, though.  You wanted something?”

The orc nodded.  “It’s my opinion that this location isn’t secure.  It’s far too open, and there are too many entrances to cover without a much larger team with a lot more gear.”

“Finally, some sense!” Gabby said, clapping her hands together.  “I told my boss that when she decided to move out here!  So when can the rest of the team come out?”

“Well…I was wondering if you’d consider relocating to somewhere more secure?”

Gabby frowned, shaking her head.  “I’d love to, but that’s not going to work.  It took like a week for IT to move the comm systems out here and get everything transferred to it.  They weren’t happy about it, but it’s what the boss wanted, you know?  And there’s a secure encrypted link here that Soletta uses to contact me, and I don’t want to risk missing a message from her.  Can we just get a bigger team out here?”

“Might take some time…can probably work out a solution, though…” the orc muttered, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.  He looked back toward his men and nodded.  “Tell you what, Miss Garvin, if you have a minute, could you step out here and take a look at this equipment?  It’s not a perfect solution, but should increase your security quite a bit while we wait for a larger team.  Just wouldn’t want to put it somewhere your boss wouldn’t approve of.”

“Oh, sure, I could use a break anyway,” Gabby replied, tugging her headset off and tossing it on the charging plate.  There were still over a dozen calls waiting, and another forty or so emails that had come in over the last hour, but it’s not like she was telling them anything they hadn’t already heard anyway.  She looked at her comm as she stood, then dropped it back to the desktop.  Still no word from Soletta or Tizzy.

Gabby followed the orc out to the other security guys, and saw that one of them was just finishing unlocking the gigantic case the equinarian had carried in.  “So, what’s in there?”

“It’s a rather specialized security solution,” said the orc, nodding to the human and other orc to remove the cover.  “If you’ll step over here, I’ll show you what it does and then see about where to place it.”

“Sounds complicated…” Gabby said, stepping over to the side of the case.  The lid lifted off with a hiss of escaping air.  When the lead orc crouched down beside it, she did the same.  She smelled the strong odor of rubber now, almost overwhelming.  As the lid was pulled aside, Gabby blinked, opened her mouth, then closed it, and tried to make sense of what it was she saw.  It looked like…a female body stuffed inside the foam packing of the case, covered from head to toe in black, shiny latex.  “Uh…I’m not sure exactly…what this is…?”

Gabby’s brain was completely unable to process what was in the case.  Why would there be a latex-clad body in the case?  What did that have to do with securing the property?  Was it some kind of decoy or something?  What was that going to accomplish?

As she stared dumbly down at the figure in the case, about to ask the orc what it was meant to do, she saw the eyes behind the latex open, turning toward her.  They weren’t normal, in fact, they were completely black and slightly bulbous, no irises or anything.  Suddenly, the figure inside lurched upright, its hand snatching the front of Gabby’s blouse and pulling her toward it.

Gabby let out a startled cry as the figure’s lips, cold and dry, pressed against her own.  As she tried to scream, she felt a tongue enter her mouth in a forceful kiss.  Before she could mount a better defense, lights exploded in front of her eyes, her brain feeling something, like another presence forcing itself inside her thoughts, just before she passed out.

Sometime Later…

“Enduritelligence Microsystems, office of Soletta Valkyr, please hold.”

Gabby groaned, eyes fluttering open slowly.  She had a pounding headache, and her vision was blurry.  She tried to move, but found herself unable to do more than wiggle in place.  What happened?  What was she doing?  Where was she?  She was warm at least, but it felt like the world was pressing in around her.

“Enduritelligence Microsystems, office of Soletta Valkyr, please hold.”

That was definitely her voice.  She groaned again, tried to open her mouth, realized it was open, and filled with something big and smooth and…made of rubber?  Wait, how could she be answering the comms if her mouth was stuffed full?  That didn’t make sense.  She blinked, trying to clear her vision as she listened to herself explain why her boss wasn’t around.  Definitely her voice, but not from her mouth.  How could that be?

With her brain slowly getting back in gear, Gabby’s vision likewise started to clear.  She began to squirm, then tried to move her body, but it wouldn’t respond.  Rather, it couldn’t respond, because of all the pressure surrounding it, all the…latex.  Latex?!

“Enduritelligence Microsystems, office of Soletta Valkyr, please hold.”

Gabby screamed as she was suddenly very awake, her panicked cry muffled by the thick rubber ball filling her mouth.  Her eyes darted left and right as she again tried to move, but failed.  She couldn’t understand why she was standing upright, why her toes hurt, why she could barely breathe, or why her arms ached and were pulled very painfully behind her.  Then she suddenly realized she was staring at herself, sitting at her desk, speaking on the phone.

No, that couldn’t be her!

But it was, and she was smiling at herself as she spoke, lips curling in a playful, though rather sadistic way that certainly wasn’t normal.

“Enduritelligence Microsystems, office of Soletta Valkyr, please hold.”

At that, Gabby, or at least, the Gabby who could move, stood from the desk and sauntered around it, her blouse, the blouse she’d been wearing…how long ago had it been?…unbuttoned and showing more cleavage than she normally would have on the job.  “Well well, finally awake are you?  Was beginning to wonder if I might have overdone things a bit.”  The other Gabby pressed herself against the restrained Gabby, wrapped one leg around Gabby’s latex covered legs, and tenderly stroked the mouth-filling gag with her fingers.

This doesn’t make sense!  What’s going on here?!  What’s happening?!

“Just not clicking for you at all, is it, honey?” said the Not-Gabby, her hands finding the restrained Gabby’s breasts, giving them a few firm squeezes, making her squeal and squirm.

In the grip of something that looked like her, Gabby shook and bucked, tried to make herself move, but again found it impossible.  Panic overtaking any rational thoughts, she screamed as she watched herself groping her.

“Oh, poor, dumb thing.  Let me enlighten you, hmm?”  Not-Gabby leaned closer, her lips pressing against Gabby’s own, or at least over the latex that covered her rubber-stuffed mouth.  Suddenly Gabby’s vision flashed and she was…staring at herself?  Was it really her?  She looked down, saw her unbuttoned blouse, saw her body hugging up against the rubber-covered version of herself.

Not-Gabby stepped away, allowing the real Gabby to see herself in her entirety.  Through the strange vision, Gabby could see herself squirming and wiggling, desperate to escape, heard her nasally, panicked cries.

Gabby was covered in glistening black latex from head to foot.  Her feet were clad in tall, ballet-style heels, her toes pointed downward painfully.  A smooth, featureless catsuit covered her body.  A heavy corset was wrapped around her midsection, helping to support her breasts, which were themselves enhanced through the tight latex and the fact that her arms were pulled behind her back, held in place by some kind of sheath that held them tightly together, palm to palm, secured further by straps that draped over her shoulders and under her arms.  A thick collar was wrapped around her neck, keeping her head mostly immobile, while her head was covered in a latex hood, revealing only her eyes; her cheeks were bulging beneath the latex, the outline of a ball between them.  She was secured by several thick straps to some kind of frame, which itself was part of the interior of the gigantic case the equinarian had carried in.

“Does that make it a little clearer, honey?  Can your puny little mind finally comprehend?  No?”  Gabby watched through Not-Gabby as she rolled her eyes, then crossed her arms.  “I’m replacing you, idiot.  My boss would really like to talk to your boss, and your boss is making that very difficult.  So, we’re taking some rather drastic measures.  Thankfully your mental defenses were basically nonexistent, so I now know everything you do.  And let me tell you, I’d rather not have to waste my brain-space with some of the inane crap  you keep in there.”

The vision ended suddenly, leaving Gabby dazed and confused for a few moments as her brain tried to make sense of what she had just seen and heard.  How was this person able to look and sound like her?  How could they get into her head like that?  What did they mean they knew everything she did?

“Ugh, I’m not going to explain it further,” said Not-Gabby with a disgusted shake of her head.  She snapped her fingers.  “Guys, you can take her out of here now, I have everything I need.  Just make sure you keep her alive, hmm?”  As she spoke, she lifted something from the frame, more black latex.

“You got it,” said the lead orc as he stepped up beside the tightly restrained Gabby.

“Well, honey, I’ll be seeing you around, maybe.  Don’t know what they’ve got planned for you, but your time as a secretary is over, so you can be thankful for that.  Maybe sex slave will work better for you?”  Gabby screamed in terror as Not-Gabby lifted the latex toward her face, pulling the thick hood over her head, blocking out her vision and dampening her hearing as she quickly tightened it down.

Gabby heard her personal comm ringing even with her diminished hearing then, and Not-Gabby quickly answered it.  “Yes, this is Gabby Garvin…oh, that’s great news!  I’m so glad you approved the security detail for me!  Yeah, I was starting to get a little worried; I saw a black van out front a few hours ago; think they just had the wrong house…oh, you’ll be here in an hour or so?  Great, I’ll be looking out for you!”

Gabby screamed again, then jerked her body and tried to free herself to no avail as the frame, and her, was retracted into the large case, the foam expanding to press down tightly on her from all sides.  The lid was quickly secured, and her world went completely silent but for the faint hiss of air being cycled through the case.  The next thing she knew, she was on her side, and felt like she was being carried.

Where are they taking me?!  What’s going to happen to me?!  Oh, gods, what is going on?!”  She still didn’t understand half of what was going on, least of all how there could be an exact duplicate of her, or what exactly that thing in the case before her had been.  In spite of the terror she felt, though, she could at least be thankful she wasn’t answering the phones anymore…
